Choosie Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Choosie ("Choosie", "we", "us")
collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Choosie mobile app and
related services (the "Service"). Choosie is operated by
Seam Apps. By using Choosie you agree to this Policy.
Choosie is for adults (18+) only. We do not knowingly collect
information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we remove
their account and data.
1. Information we collect
- Phone number — used to verify your identity and create your
account (via Firebase Authentication). We receive a verified account identifier;
we do not use your number for marketing.
- Profile information — the display name, date of birth (used to
confirm you are 18+ and for age-based matching), gender / "looking for"
preferences, and an optional profile photo you choose to upload.
If you add a photo, it is shown only to people you have already matched with
(never during matching), and it is deleted when you remove it or delete your account.
- Approximate location — if you grant permission, we use a
coarse (grid-snapped) location to match you with people nearby and show
approximate distance. We do not store or share your precise GPS
coordinates. You can use Choosie without location (you'll match anywhere).
- Matches and messages — records of who you match with and the
text chat messages you exchange, so the app can show your conversations.
- Safety data — reports you submit and users you block, used to
keep the community safe and to review violations.
- Technical data — basic connection information needed to
establish video calls (see "Video calls" below).
2. Live video calls
Choosie connects you to other people for live, one-on-one video chat. Video and
audio are streamed peer-to-peer (directly between devices, relayed
through a server only when a direct connection isn't possible). We do not
record your video or audio calls. Because calls are not recorded, a report
about a call is reviewed using the report details and patterns of behavior rather than
a recording.
3. How we use your information
- To create and operate your account and match you with other users.
- To enable video chats, text messages, and call-backs between matches.
- To enforce our age requirement, Community Guidelines, and Terms.
- To review reports, action blocks, and suspend or ban users who violate the rules.
- To maintain the security and reliability of the Service.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With other users — your display name, approximate distance,
age, and what you show on camera are visible to people you match or connect with.
- With service providers that help us run the Service (for
example, authentication and hosting infrastructure), under obligations to protect
your data.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and
security of our users or the public — including reporting of illegal content where
legally required.
5. Data retention & deletion
We keep your profile, matches, and messages while your account is active. You can
delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings →
Delete account). Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, matches, and
messages from our systems and deletes your authentication record. We may retain limited
records of safety reports or as required by law.
6. Your choices & rights
- Edit your profile and preferences in the app at any time.
- Grant or revoke camera, microphone, and location permissions in your device settings.
- Delete your account in the app.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete
your personal data — contact us to exercise them.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures (including encrypted connections) to protect your
information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot
guarantee absolute security.
8. International users
Choosie may process your information in countries other than where you live. By using
the Service you consent to such processing consistent with this Policy.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date
above and, for material changes, may notify you in the app.
